Welcome our new Director of Tennis

Mark Woerner

 

Originally from Wisconsin, Mark comes to Bentwater from Medlock Bridge in Alpharetta, GA. Certified with the USPTR, Mark was the Director at Medlock Bridge for 12 years, and has15 years of experience teaching individuals and teams of all ages/levels. Mark is also a member of the GPTA, USRSA and an experienced racket stringer.

 

Mark began his career as a tennis instructor at Harrison Tennis Center. There he worked as a junior coach and for the Rod Young Tennis Academy.  From there he went on to take the Director of Tennis position at Medlock Bridge for 12 years conducted a very successful program. 

 

Mark began playing tennis as a high school player in Kenosha, Wisconsin for Tremper High. He then went on to play singles and doubles for the University of Wisconsin LaCrosse.    

In 2002, Mark married his lovely wife Deltsey and they have a 3-year-old son, Riley. Mark is excited to share his love and enthusiasm for the game of tennis with everyone. He is confident that he can be an asset in continuing the ongoing success of Bentwater’s tennis Program.

Welcome our new Tennis Assistant

Zwelo Khupe

Zwelo Khupe is a graduate of Francis Marion University in Florence, South Carolina with a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance.  He played collegiate tennis for his alma-mata .  Zwelo is a native of Zimbabwe where he was a member of the Junior Davis Cup team and an ITF world ranking as a junior.  Zwelo was awarded a scholarship to attend Francis Marion University.  Zwelo has lived in the Atlanta metro area the last 10 years, working with ALTA teams and juniors from beginners to nationally ranked players.  He is certified by United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA).  Zwelo enjoys working with players of all levels.  He has also played league tennis as well, winning city finals at AA2.  Outside of tennis, Zwelo enjoys soccer and golf.
